I won’t tell you that I’m tired of cars with a motor like a pack of juice or a bottle of mineral water, everything is much more complicated. The world history of drag racing says that no matter how you look at it, you will still come to American power in the “face” of the big block, and only cars with v8 will help you drive fast and stably.
Therefore, it was decided to skip one of the stages of evolution (skip RB and JZ) and start building v8 right away.
Well, and now probably the most important thing is that I was afraid not to pull this project on my own and turned to my friends for help. We were faced with a HUGE task - to make it a drag car that fully complies with the RAF Technical Requirements. To do this, I had to seek help from the sports equipment committee of the Russian Federation.
The task I would say is simply colossal!
At the time of the start of work, those requirements for a car forbade changing the power part of the car (spars), but we solved this problem by fitting a huge motor into our native framework))) now everything is much more democratic and you can find a lot of work for an angle grinder.
Therefore, I have something to tell, start from the very beginning of the BZ and see what a group of enthusiasts can do)) get ready for long stories about "rusty pieces of iron"!
To date, we have skated the 2013-2014 racing season and the car has retired.
Not bad for a first season.
The task for the season is completed in its greater half.
We managed to make the car go not bad for its power and, most importantly, stable. Over the summer, we have accumulated a HUGE amount of information - for analysis in the long winter evenings.
We devoted the second season to the Russian Cup, having already skated a full racing series on the modernized turbo big block.
We have Bronze at the RUSSIAN CUP!
Probably the MOST POWERFUL in my city.
So, get acquainted — Chevrolet Camaro!
